Future Continuous Tense

The Future Continuous Tense is formed by combining the modal verb ‘will’ / ‘shall’, the auxiliary verb ‘be’ and a present participle.

Modal verb ‘will’/‘shall’ + Auxiliary verb ‘be’ + Present Participle = Future Continuous Tense

Examples:

will + be + reading = will be reading

shall + be + doing = shall be doing




We use the future continuous tense to talk about an action that will be going on at a particular moment or period of time in the future.

Examples:

I will/shall be playing badminton at five o’clock this evening.

You will be enjoying yourself in Tokyo next week.

They will be diving in the sea at 10 p.m. tonight.

My family will be having dinner when you arrive this evening.

We will/shall be working night shifts next month.

The pianist will be giving a recital this time tomorrow.
